PTFE oil seal material Advantages
At present, the widely used ones are nitrile rubber and fluororubber materials. The former is low in cost, but the temperature resistance and sealing performance are poor, and the leakage is serious; the latter has obvious improvement in temperature resistance and sealing, but the cost is high. And still have some common commonality of ordinary rubber materials: such as poor wear resistance, short service life, particularly sensitive to the eccentric reaction of the shaft, etc., leakage is still relatively common.
The filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) oil seal replaces the lip rubber seal, which successfully solves the problem of leakage and oil leakage of the rubber skeleton oil seal.
First, the advantages of PTFE oil seal material
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), also known as Teflon or Plastic King, is a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene monomer, which has the following advantages:
(1) Chemical stability: Almost all chemical resistance, strong acid, strong alkali or strong oxidizing agent and organic solvent have no effect on it.
(2) Thermal stability: The cracking temperature is above 400 °C. Therefore, polytetrafluoroethylene can work normally in the temperature range of -200 ° C to 300 ° C.
(3) Friction reduction: The friction coefficient of PTFE material is extremely low, only 0.02, which is 1/40 of rubber.
(4) Self-lubricity: The surface of the PTFE material has outstanding self-lubricating properties, and almost all viscous substances cannot adhere to its surface.
